Speaking of All’s Well…

http://www.cleveland.com/entertainment/plaindealer/index.ssf?/base/entertainment-0/1208248384292160.xml&coll=2 I just happened to see a review roll through my feeds today.  This one was in Cleveland, and neither the production nor the source material get a particularly good review.

  1. Georgia Shakespeare is mounting All’s Well this summer in Atlanta; it will be the first time I get to see the play on stage. Here’s hoping they make a better job of it! I think the trick is to bring out Bertram’s good qualities–he is, after all, courageous and capable, winning resepect and honor in the wars–and the growth that he undergoes after his illusions about Parolles are stripped from him. I am inclined to think that Bertram is a different person in Act V than he was in Act I–and he’s certainly had a big lesson on not treating Helena badly!
