Urban Shakespeare Legends

Open topic for discussion. What “fact” about Shakespeare is commonly known, but probably has no basis in reality?

  1. As much as I'd like it to be true, the "William the Conqueror" story is probably false.

  2. The Mulberry Tree he used to sit under is probably false. Somehow mulberry tree "artifacts" (cups, etc.) kept showing up years after the tree was gone.
